We are getting on board with MoVember!
This year, the team at Skydive Bay Of Islands and Taupo Tandem Skydiving are doing MoVember! That’s right, this November we are raising funds for this awesome charity that helps so many of our kiwi men.
WHAT IS MOVEMBER YOU ASK?
The state of men’s health is in crisis. Men experience worse longer-term health than women and die on average six years earlier. Prostate cancer rates will double in the next 15 years. Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50. Three-quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute. MoVember is taking a stand. They are the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. They address some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
They raise awareness through the light-hearted way of growing facial hair! MoVember encourages guys to grow a mo, raise money, and get talking about some of those tougher issues.
In 15 years they’ve funded more than 1,200 men’s health projects around the world. By 2030, they will reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%. Awesome stuff huh!?
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
We’re donating for every skydiver! So how does it work?
- For the month of November, for every skydiver we will donate $1
- For every person with a mo that skydives, we will donate $2
And we aren’t fussy about types of mo’s – handlebar, wispy, stick-on’s… we’ll even donate for a beard! We want to encourage as many people to help us support this cause.

Let’s help out our kiwi blokes and speak up about men’s health!
