It feels good to do good
Jump For A Cause is New Zealand’s crowd-funding platform where you can skydive for charity!
There’s no doubt that it feels good to do good. Whether it’s helping out your neighbour with their garden, lending a hand to your local op shop, or even helping some ducklings cross the road, there’s something about giving back to those in need that just gives you the good vibes.
Something else that gives good vibes? Skydiving! Leaping out of a plane with your tandem master, plummeting 200kph towards the ground, and then landing safely and soundly gives you such an incredible rush…
We’ve teamed the two things together – giving back to those in need + skydiving – to bring you our new project: Jump For A Cause!
It’s simple. Choose your charity, raise the minimum target required, and not only will your chosen charity benefit from the money you raise, but you’ll also get to claim an awesome experience with either Skydive Bay of Islands or Taupo Tandem Skydiving!
How does it work?
Create your campaign
Choose from our list of registered charities to start fundraising. Aim high – it’s for a good cause! You can set your goal wherever you like, but the more you raise the better is for your chosen charity AND the more you’ll be able to redeem towards your skydiving experience!
Can’t see your registered charity? Simply send us an email and we’ll get them set up with us to start fundraising!
Fundraise
Now you have your campaign set up, it’s time to start fundraising! Jump on social media and let your friends and family know what crazy stunt you’re willing to do in support of a worthy cause. They can either donate to your cause or set up their own campaign and jump with you. The sky is the limit (literally).
Jump!
Once you’ve reached your goal simply book in at the location that suits you best, then redeem your reward for a job well done!

Professional, fun, relatable - Bay Of islands skydive is very professional, great welcome, great introduction to the jump and great gears and premises, everything run smoothly professionally and fast.
Prashant Kapoor was my instructor... read more and he was awesome, made me wanna do it on my own, after proper training of course.
With around 7000 jump he made me feel comfortable, safe, and the whole experience was a delight until you jump off the plane of course when you realise you love life.
Even the deployement was smooth, I'm 6 feet and 100Kg and all was awesome.
To do it again and again

Good place for a first skydive - Very slick operation they have here with no unnecessary waiting around.
Thankfully they called me in advance to suggest moving the jump date a couple of days earlier to... read more avoid expected bad weather.
Bryce (my instructor) was chilled out and I felt very safe under his control.

I did a skydive here on 02nd January 2022. The skydive itself was exhilarating. A lifelong dream and the first one I'd ever done. Everything went well until we came... read more in to land. We seemed to be coming in faster than we should but as a complete novice, I had no point of reference.
We hit the ground very hard, landing directly on my backside. The pain was excruciating. The instructor, Maurice, said he tried to take the impact on his feet, but couldn't (I am significantly taller and heavier than him (I'm a 30's male - 185cm, 95kg)
I could barely stand up, but I was ushered away and told that this sort of thing happens now and again. Just put a bit of deep heat on it and I'll be fine in a couple of days!
I was in agony, so I went to a physio a couple of days later and got referred for an x-ray. I had a compression fracture (T11) in my spine and a broken tailbone. It heavily impacted my quality of life. I've gone through physiotherapy and have improved significantly, but I'm still in intermittent discomfort nearly 10 months later.
There was no record made of the accident and it was all brushed off. I returned to the site the next day to understand what went wrong. Maurice wasn't available so I spoke to one of his colleagues. I was told it was probably turbulence. It's unlucky and rare, but it happens. It didn't appear to be taken seriously.
I realise there are inherent risks with jumping out of an aeroplane, but I'm not happy with how it was dealt with.

I was booked in for the 9000ft and upgraded for only $30 to the 12000ft. Was my first jump and I was nervous! I absolutely loved the experience! Every member... read more of staff was happy, smiling and accomodating throughout. I believe they could read that I was scared and they didn’t push me or try to be overbearingly excited, they were the perfect amount of funny, supportive and excited. Would definitely recommend the 12000ft jump minimum to be able to have the best experience of the free fall. And the management went out of their way by dropping me off down the road after my jump. I would recommend this experience any day of the week and really hope that the business bounces back from covid once the borders reopen. Best of luck!! Also would recommend getting the photo package or the video one for the laughs afterwards 🙂
